The Urbanworld Film Festival returns for its 22nd year with a wide-ranging spotlight lineup and plenty of narratives, documentaries, and showcases full of diversity!

Taking over the AMC Empire in Times Square for a little over half a week, the returning 2018 Urbanworld Film Festival lineup promises to showcase both Hollywood studio diversity and indie diversity. Running from September 19th through the 23rd, the festival includes such premieres as Malcolm D. Lee’s Night School (out on the 28th), 12 Years a Slave‘s Steve McQueen’s Widows, and George Tillman, Jr.’s The Hate U Give, based on Angie Thomas’ novel of the same name.
