This June, the world returns to Isla Nublar and the surviving dinosaurs leave the island in the final trailer for J.A. Bayona’s Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.
Given the end of 2017 teaser trailer, the Super Bowl theatrical trailer, and now this final trailer, the plot of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom has become more familiar. But given the fact that the film’s out in 2 months makes it seem a little early for a final trailer, unlike the Deadpool 2 final trailer. As I guessed back when the Super Bowl trailer dropped, the film follows a plot similar to The Lost World.
In Fallen Kingdom, Owen (Chris Pratt) and Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard) return to the abandoned Isla Nublar 4 years after the events of Jurassic World to rescue 11 dinosaur species … only to find out that Dr. Henry Wu (B.D. Wong) and other scientists/companies are working to breed a super-predator to sell to the highest bidder. And given the return of Dr. Ian Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum), the connection to The Lost World is even stronger. How things will play out is still a good guess, but when the good guys have their own trained raptor to battle the new creation, it seems a little more predictable. Then again, this does sound a bit like how Jurassic World ended – with the exception of the new creation being closer in size to the raptors, rather than the Indominous Rex from the prior film.
