Final Trailer: ‘Deadpool 2’ Making a Comeback

Deadpool 2 still - Cable and Deadpool

In a similar fashion to the Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom final trailer, there’s a Deadpool 2 final trailer, and it’s just as foul as the first.

It hasn’t been long since the first Deadpool 2 trailers dropped, and now that we’re less than a month away from release, there’s a Deadpool 2 final trailer that provides more of a glimpse at the upcoming action-packed sequel, underscored by LL Cool J’s “Mama Said Knock You Out”.

The plot still needs a little more detailing, but the gist is that Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) has recruited a “super-duper-f’ing-team” to protect mutant teen Russell (Hunt for the Wilderpeople‘s Julian Dennison) from the time-traveling anti-hero Cable (Avengers: Infinity War villain Josh Brolin) – among others. And said X-Force team includes lucky mutant Domino (Zazie Beetz), Shatterstar (Lewis Tam), Bedlam (Terry Crews), Colossus (Stefan Kapicic), Negasonic Teenage Warhead (Brianna Hildebrand), still-unnamed mutants/superheroes played by Shioli Kutsuna and It‘s Bill Skarsgard), and the ordinary Peter (Catastrophe‘s Rob Delany).

This final trailer (below) definitely brings the kinetic and slow-mo David Leitch action and the meta-humor, including digs at the DCEU and Brolin’s dueling Marvel Cinematic Universe/Fox-Marvel Universe roles as Thanos and Cable. I, for one, am still looking forward to Deadpool 2 and am still hoping that TJ Miller’s role as Weasel will be minor compared to, say, the returning Dopinder (Karan Soni), Blind Al (Leslie Uggams), Negasonic, and Colossus, especially given the false bomb threat and ensuing arrest – the latest charges against him.

Deadpool 2 hits theaters on May 18 with a script from returning co-writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick.
