The Meyerowitz Stories (New and Selected) is the latest from director Noah Baumbach, working on a script he wrote himself. The understandable talk around the film – which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival – is that it’s the return of Adam Sandler to a serious dramatic role.
The film features adult siblings (Sandler, Ben Stiller, and Elizabeth Marvel) who have to contend with the long shadow cast over them by their father (Dustin Hoffman). Based on the first teaser released by Netflix, the film has Baumbach’s fingerprints all over it and looks to be a real delight. It’s good to see Sandler in something good/serious again, as we all know that when given a juicy role, the man can deliver the goods.
The Meyerowitz Stories (New and Selected) will have its NYC premiere at the New York Film Festival and will be released in select theaters and Netflix on October 13. Find the teaser trailer posted below.
