Woodshock is the latest entry from A24 (enough said, right?) set to release this year. Starring Kirsten Dunst (whose having a nice year with this and the release of The Beguiled) and the directorial debut of Kate and Laura Mulleavy, who are the founders of clothing line Rodarte.
The trailer maintains an air of mystery, showing a lot of truly stunning images matched to a perfect haunting score that leaves you not knowing quite what is happening, but wanting to know more right away, as a good trailer should.
Press notes describe the film as a “hypnotic exploration of isolation, paranoia and grift that exists in a dream-world all its own” and stars Dunst as Theresa, “a haunted young woman spiraling in the wake of profound loss, torn between her fractured emotional state and the reality-altering effects of a potent cannabinoid drug.”
In addition to Dunst, Woodshock stars Pilou Asbaek (last seen in Ghost in the Shell), Joe Cole, Lorelei Linklater, Jack Kilmer and Steph DuVall.
Woodshock opens in theaters on September 15. Find the trailer posted below.
