Fans heading to Logan this weekend have been expecting a post-credit tag … but that’s not the surprise they received! Instead, it’s “Deadpool: No Good Deed” screenshot!
Okay, a teaser for the sequel … kind of. Best check it out first and then we’ll continue this discussion below the video embed.
Not what you were expecting, right? Technically, Deadpool 2, the greenlit sequel, hasn’t started production yet, as there’s still some casting left to be done. It’s set to film from mid-June to mid-September under the working title Love Machine. Also, there have been the confirmations of the director and writers in recent months – John Wick‘s David Leitch is stepping in for the departing director Tim Miller, and Drew Goddard joined the writing team of Ryan Reynolds, Rhett Reese, and Paul Wernick according to Collider.
So what’s this? This is a short titled “Deadpool: No Good Deed”. It’s in no way related to Deadpool 2, according to Reese.
One last thing! The new Deadpool piece is NOT a teaser or trailer. It is a short. None of its footage will appear in Deadpool 2.

Yes, even though Leitch directed it, Reese wrote it, and Reynolds returned as Deadpool. Oh, and the Stan Lee cameo? That’s just something special for the internet viewers. Think of this whole thing as the new version of the leaked Deadpool test footage, except with a better budget and something to sate the fans eager for Deadpool 2 next year.
So, long story short, this is just a short film, and Deadpool 2 is still on track for a 2018 release. In the meantime, there’s still Deadpool on DVD and “Deadpool: No Good Deed” to rewatch over and over again.
