Justice League keeps adding to its already massive and impressive cast, announcing today that Oscar winner J.K. Simmons has been cast to play Commissioner Gordon.
Simmons, of course, is no stranger to the world of comic book movies, having played J. Jonah Jameson in memorable fashion in the original Spider-Man trilogy. Some hoped he would revive the role for the future installments, but this casting as Commissioner Gordon should put those ideas to rest.
The stacked cast of Justice League also includes Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Ezra Miller as The Flash, Ray Fisher as Cyborg and Amber Heard as Mera. Whew.
According to Variety, Commissioner Gordon was the last major role to be cast before production began this spring.
We’re still a few weeks away from Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice and several months from Suicide Squad, but we’re equally excited at the prospect of Justice League with such an interesting and stacked cast lined up.
Justice League will be directed by the now DC regular Zack Snyder, and will be looking at a release date in November 2017.
