It’s hard to believe, but Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is a little more than a month away from it’s highly anticipated theatrical release. With the looming release date, we get one final trailer to hold us over until the real thing.
This final trailer starts off with look at the tactical approach of Batman, who is guided to take on some baddies in a warehouse building with the assistance of Alfred (Jeremy Irons). The hostiles are expecting Batman through the front door, but that’s too easy. Instead, he comes smashing from under their feet and takes them out, one by one. It’s a good choice that really submerges us back in the world of Batman.
But of course, this isn’t just a Batman film. This trailer dives right back into the fact that there is a little battle going on between him and Superman (Henry Cavill). There’s some recycled footage, but also a some new stuff, such as Batman failing hard when trying to smash the Batmobile into Superman. The trailer also delivers new footage of Diana Prince/Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) engaging with Bruce Wayne, possibly teasing something more than just a team-up in battle.
It’s interesting to note that there’s no footage of Doomsday to be found, possibly a result of the negative reaction to the spoilery reveal in the last trailer, or because they wanted to leave the focus on the titular battle between our two heroes, all with some voiceover dialogue from Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg), just like in the teaser. It’s still exciting as ever to see Batman in action, with some truly impressive fight choreography, making me even more excited to see just what director Zack Snyder has crafted. That last shot of Superman realizing Batman can hang, well, it’s pretty damn great.
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice hits theaters on March 25, 2016. Find the final trailer posted below.
